The brief
Every Shopify app needs listing images for the App Store, and most developers make them from a blank Canva file. I had this problem with my own apps, so I built the tool I wanted: set your brand once, pick a template, and export a full matching set of 1600x900 images in minutes. No signup, no backend, nothing leaves the browser.
The build
There are 97 layouts and 79 color schemes, which is 7,663 combinations. 50 of the layouts and 62 of the schemes were studied from the top 160 most reviewed apps on the App Store, so the patterns are the ones that already sell apps. Every scheme is checked against its background before render (WCAG 3:1 minimum), so no combination gives you unreadable text. You fill slots instead of a canvas, so you cannot break the layout.
The result
Everything runs in the browser and settings live in localStorage. ShopShots also ships an MCP server on npm, so an AI coding agent like Claude Code can generate a full listing image set from one prompt. It is open source on GitHub.
