The brief
Tarun Tahiliani is one of India's most recognized couture houses, and this was the project that shaped how I build Shopify themes. The design came from Pallavi Nopany and her team, a design-first studio that cares deeply about premium aesthetics, and the brief was simple and brutal: the build must match the Figma file 100%. It was my first time receiving a huge design system to convert into a working theme. I was working as a frontend developer at Growify Digital at the time, and the project credit belongs to them.
The build
Before a single section could be built, the store had to move house. The old website ran on Magento, so I migrated 1000+ products with all their images to Shopify using a third-party migration tool, mapped so cleanly that no manual product entry was needed at all. For the theme itself I used Prestige as the base: it handled the commerce logic that every store needs (add to cart, cart drawer, predictive search, the core templates), which freed me to spend my time where the design demanded it.

The result
On top of that base I built the custom layer: story-driven sections for the couture collections, reusable snippets for product cards and pricing so changes happen in one place, responsive images so runway photography ships at the right size for every screen, and section settings so the content team could manage pages without a developer. The launch was a success, the design fidelity held, and it opened the door to every design-led project that followed.
